Ladies Bowling

Our Ladies Section is around 20 strong and highly competitve with standards ranging from beginner to national champions. As a result of the lower numbers you are likely to get a league game fairly soon after joining the club. We are currently registered with 2 bowling associations, these being Bowls Dorset and the Bournemouth & District leagues playing against clubs in both Dorset and Hampshire. Our season runs from April to September whereby we are currently involved in the following leagues.

Bournemouth and District League

These matches are played on Thursday afternoon and consist of 5 Divisions. The league teams are made up of 2 rinks per team and we have 3 teams in this league. Ladies also play in the Mixed Triples league with the mens section on a Saturday afternoon.

Bowls Dorset League

These matches are played on Tuesday afternoon’s and consist of 2 Divisions. The league teams are made up of 3 rinks per team and we have 2 teams in this league.

Edna Paisley League

This triples league, played in Dorset, consists of one east and one west division and is open to players over the age of 60. The league teams are made up of 2 rinks and only one first team player is allowed to play in each team. We have 1 team in the East Division. The winners of the East and West divisions play a final, towards the end of the season.

Club Competitions

We also have our annual competitions ranging from the Championship singles to the Drawn Pairs with the finals of all our competitions being played on the last weekend of August.

National and County Competitions

Every year we enter both the National and County competitions all of which are challenging competitions.

Note: For potential new members who need an introduction to the game we can provide “In House” coaching.
